In Stockholm

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

I am finally back in Sweden. Due to adverse weather conditions my arrival got delayed more than 30 hours, and in the stress the airport staff forgot to unload and reload the baggage, so basically all I got with me was my computer and the clothes I was wearing. But, I got a solid 15 minutes of sleep on the plane so I was full of energy and in a good mood when I arrived at 6am to Stockholm. No need to rest, so I went straight to YEoS Venture Lab to work with my colleague Joakim on Campusbokhandeln‘s new strategy and new website. The day later ended with a Sandbox dinner with some old and new faces. It was my first Sandbox event in Sweden, very good organised by Gustav Borgefalk. We were 10 of us, an all with very interesting stories.

Now I am gonna a spend a few more hours at the lab and then go to my parents’ house in Nyköping. Good times.

The Annual Christmas Luncheon

Saturday, December 4th, 2010

Yesterday, the Swedish Chamber held it’s annual Christmas Luncheon, this year at the spectacular the Banqueting House, Whitehall. It was a long-lasting lunch which started at 12 noon and was still going strong when I left at 8pm. We were served delicious Swedish Christmas food catered from Lena Björck‘s Inn or Out. One might say with 420 guests and fully booked since May that it was a very successful event, and it was. Among the guests were Bicky Chakraborty, founder of Elite Hotels; Mats Granryd, CEO at Tele2; Magnus Olsson, H&M’s country manager for Britain; and H.E. Nicola Clase, Swedish Ambassador to the Court of St James’s. I can not take too much “cred” for it though (non), but I really enjoyed it, especially when the Chamber staff sang its traditional song.

This weekend is all about work, and some house warming. Hoping to be able to send out the invite this weekend to all YEoS Members on the London trip I am organising in February 2011. We are also setting a new strategy plan for Campusbokhandeln.

Multi-managing

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

I did not have too much to do at the Chamber in the end of June and during July, but that has really changed now. As I told you yesterday I have a lot of mini-projects coming up, and some already running. Here are most of them: Together with my colleague Hilma currently planning a Crayfish Party (1), an afterwork at Chinawhite (2), a seminar with Daniel Ek if we are lucky (3), and a golf tournament (4). I am also restructuring the budget document (5), preparing several in-house proposals (6, 7, 8), writing an article about the oil industry together with Jessica (9), and editing the Chambers magazine LINK (10). To not get bored on my spare time I have initiated a educational roadshow project together with friend and a fellow member of YEoS (11), I am planning a big party at YEoS Venture Lab on 28 August (12), I have redesigned the website for Campusbokhandeln as well as started designing our new webshop (13), and further developed the idea of the Campusbokhandeln scholarship (14). Lucky for me I have very smart and helpful colleagues to rely on for help/support.

Now I have to get some sleep, I am going by train to Shaftesbury (Dorset), wherever that is, tomorrow early morning.

Cheerio

Fantastic Colleagues!

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

While I am here in the UK, my colleagues back in Sweden are doing a very good job. YEoS Venture Lab is since a few weeks back fully rented, well done Christoffer and Marcus! Joakim is going on strong with Campusbokhandeln. We are currently preparing for taking a big leap this autumn, introducing a webshop, and opening a few more stores among other things. Keep up the good work Joakim, Christoffer, Marcus, and all other co-workers back home!
