Today I’m tired. Yesterday we held the annual JCC crayfish party at the Embassy of Sweden. The event was a mad success. Fully booked with 120 guests since more than a week. The people were in a very cheerful mood. But who could blame them, Hilma and I were the toastmasters. We sang a lots of snaps songs, especially after the speakers broke, ate delicious crayfish and had a jolly good time before we left at 10.30 pm to one of the best nightclubs in London, the Cuckoo Club. Some picutres from the event can be found here.

The JCC Crayfish Party
Sunday, September 12th, 2010Multi-managing
Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010I did not have too much to do at the Chamber in the end of June and during July, but that has really changed now. As I told you yesterday I have a lot of mini-projects coming up, and some already running. Here are most of them: Together with my colleague Hilma currently planning a Crayfish Party (1), an afterwork at Chinawhite (2), a seminar with Daniel Ek if we are lucky (3), and a golf tournament (4). I am also restructuring the budget document (5), preparing several in-house proposals (6, 7, 8), writing an article about the oil industry together with Jessica (9), and editing the Chambers magazine LINK (10). To not get bored on my spare time I have initiated a educational roadshow project together with friend and a fellow member of YEoS (11), I am planning a big party at YEoS Venture Lab on 28 August (12), I have redesigned the website for Campusbokhandeln as well as started designing our new webshop (13), and further developed the idea of the Campusbokhandeln scholarship (14). Lucky for me I have very smart and helpful colleagues to rely on for help/support.
Now I have to get some sleep, I am going by train to Shaftesbury (Dorset), wherever that is, tomorrow early morning.

Swedish Midsummer in Hyde Park
Monday, June 28th, 2010This Saturday we celebrated Swedish Midsummer in Hyde Park with the JCC, and it was the freakin’ best Midsummer I’ve ever celebrated!!! More than 2,000 joined, most of them Swedes. As you can see I was dressed in a traditional Swedish folk costume, very neat. The five of us from the Chamber led the Midsummer dancing around the Midsummer Pole. I think we were more than 400 dancing at the same time at its peak. And standing in the middle of the dance circle, “DJ-ing”, and holding the mic’, I felt like a rock star with the cheer from the crowd. It was simply amazing!!! The celebration in the park started at 12 noon and lasted until late evening, when the party continued at the nightclub Movida.

The first week in London
Sunday, May 16th, 2010Now I have been in London for a week, and to my surprise it has only rained once, and that was today, which my colleague Hilma and I had to experience during our afternoon Tea sitting outside at a café. But yesterday the sun was shining so I took the opportunity to do some exploring and visit all the mandatory tourist traps; Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Trafalgar Sqaure, Piccadily Circus etc.
This Friday I attended my first JCC (The Junior Chamber Club for Young Professionals) event at the nightclub Raffles. We had about 150 guests, good people, good fun. From now on it will be my and Hilmas responsibility to organize the JCC events, which is something I am really looking forward to.
I have been eating a lot of crappy food (numerous of sandwiches) the last week, so now I’m gonna go for a run in Regent’s Park in the rain. Will be better next week when I move to a more permanent flat. Ciao!
